Terms & licences.
What you get, what you're allowed to do with it, and what we keep. Plain words. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@publicinterest.audio. A person reads every email.
What you can do with each instrument.
- ALLOY is free software, released under the GNU General Public License, version 3. You may run it, study it, change it and share it under that licence. The full licence text comes with every download (
LICENSE) and is at gnu.org. - MANDOLINE and TRUE TOUCH (with TRUE TOUCH FX) are licensed to you under the licence agreement included with each download (
LICENSE.txt). Buying one gives you a personal licence to use it in your own music and sound work, commercial releases included. - Sounds you make with any of them are yours. We claim nothing in your music.
- Third-party parts keep their own licences, listed in each download's
NOTICEor licence files.
Written offer for the ALLOY source.
For at least three years from the last time we distribute a given version of ALLOY, Public Interest Audio offers to give anyone who asks a complete copy of the corresponding source code for that version, under the terms of the GNU GPL version 3.
To request it, email hello@publicinterest.audio with the version you have (it's in the plugin and in its README). We'll send a download link at no charge. If you need it on a physical medium, we'll charge no more than what it costs us to make and ship.
All sales are final.
Instruments are digital and delivered the moment you pay, so we don't offer refunds. If something won't install or run, write to us and we'll work through it with you. The install notes cover most of it.
If you were charged twice for the same thing by mistake, we'll refund the duplicate.
Each download link works five times over 30 days. If you lose it or run out, write to us and we'll send a new one.
Nothing here takes away any rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.
What we keep, and why.
- When you buy: payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card. Stripe tells us your email address, what you bought and what you paid. We keep that as an order record so your download link works and so we can help you later.
- Download emails are sent through Resend, which handles your email address only to deliver the message.
- The list: if you join it, we keep your email address to send one note when an instrument is released. Nothing else. Ask and we'll remove you.
- Our servers are Supabase (orders and downloads) and Cloudflare (this site). They keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies. The site remembers your cart in your own browser and nothing more.
- We don't sell or share your details with anyone else. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email hello@publicinterest.audio.
